According to its bylaws, the association is a membership based organization. Members pay dues for inclusion, benefits and voting rights.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 7A

Election of members and their rights according to its bylaws, association members who are not delinquent in payment of their dues have exclusive right to elect the board of directors, as well as serve on the governing board. The general powers of the association as set forth by the wyoming not-for-profit act are controlled by the board.

Decisions subject to approval of members according to its bylaws, active association members vote on the composition and any changes in the size of the board of directors.

The executive director is evaluated by two parties: the vice president of student affairs at the university and the president and past president of the association. Salaries are based on the university matrix, which has been compiled using salary data from comparable positions of higher education.
