“Dementia friendly fort worth collaborates with the community to care through connection, activities, resources, and education. We envision a community that honors, values, and supports people impacted by dementia. During 2024 the ministry provided more than 11 dementia awareness sessions that impacted care partners, college students, healthcare workers, professional care givers, physician residents, and the general population. Dffw offered numerous family resource calls and offered 262 virtual activity programs. The services of dementia friendly during 2024 impacted more than 1,200 unique individuals with dementia, care partners, clergy, first responders, high school students, medical students, and professionals. The organization also had more than 200 volunteer engagements, with numerous volunteers serving on a regular basis.”

“Provide activities for people living with dementia with a program to combat loneliness and social isolation. The let's get together program is offered 5 mornings a week and is a program that engages individuals who are at risk of developing dementia. The 5th street cafe is an in person memory cafe for individuals in the early stages of dementia and meets twice a week, simultaneous with the care partner support group. A variety of activities are provided as well as lunch.”

“Offers a program to certify businesses as dementia friendly. Several programs offered education to the community through 8 in person and virtual events and participation in expos and health fairs. First responders training. Education training is presented to police officer cadets. During 2024, this training was offered to 9 police academy classes totaling 581 cadets.”
