“Form 990 is prepared and the draft is submitted to the management team. Upon submission of the draft, the form 990 is reviewed by the cfo, ceo and board before the return is filed with the internal revenue service.”
“Each director, principal officer and member of a committee with governing board delegated powers shall annually sign a statement which affirms such person: has received a copy of the policy, has read and understands the policy, has agreed to comply with the policy, and understands the corporation is charitable and in order to maintain its federal tax exemption it must engage primarily in activities which accomplish one or more of its tax-exempt purposes.”
“City fund makes its governing documents, conflict or interest policy and financial statements available to the public upon request.”
“Under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code, city fund is exempt from the payment of taxes on income other than net unrelated business income. City fund believes that their operations are consistent with the nature of their exemptions granted by the internal revenue service. No provision for income taxes is required for the years ended june 30, 2024, as the organization had no significant net unrelated business income. The organization follows the authoritative guidance relating to accounting for uncertainty in income taxes included in fasb accounting standards codification topic 740, income taxes. These provisions provide consistent guidance for the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an entity's financial statements. The organization performed an evaluation of uncertainty in income taxes for the years ended june 30, 2024, and determined that there were no matters that would require recognition in the financial statements or that may have any effect on its tax-exempt status. As of june 30, 2024, the statute of limitations for certain tax years with the u.s. Federal jurisdiction or the various states and local jurisdictions in which the organization files tax returns are open for examination; however, there are currently no examinations pending or in progress. It is organization's policy to recognize interest and/or penalties related to uncertainty in income taxes, if any, in income tax expense.”
