The board members sign the conflict of interest policy annually where the members also explain and update the board on any affiliations they have that may lead to a conflict of interest. Depending on the nature of the affiliation(s), the board will determine whether it is a conflict of interest or not.

The executive director fills out a self appraisal form identifying their strengths, areas of improvement, understanding of expectations & goals, and areas that the organization can support the executive director in achieving goals. The executive director meets with the board's executive committee to assess and compare the self appraisal to the boards appraisal of the executive director. During the board meeting, updates regarding the reviews are provided to board by the executive committee. Records of the self appraisal will be kept in the executive director's file along with any additional notes made during the review.

Staff members complete a written self-appraisal form like the executive director in regards to strengths, areas of improvement, expectations & goals, and how the organization can assist the staff members to achieve goals. The staff members then meet with the executive director to assess and compare the self apprisal with the executive director's assessment of the staff member. Updates on the staff members review will be provided to the board during the board meeting through the executive director. Staff members have a pre-selected board person to voice concerns that they don't feel comfortable sharing with the executive director. Records of the self appraisal as well as any notes from the review will be kept in the respective staff members file.
