Mission

To improve education and awareness of effective best management practices. Because farmers are in the best position to determine the practices that are most appropriate on their own farms to achieve reductions in nutrient loss, the alliance will increase partnerships with existing programs to improve nutrient management and soil health and, ultimately, indiana's water quality.

IANA primary purpose is improved nutrient use efficency and reduced nutrient loss from farmland. IANA is a partnership of agriculture groups, govenment agencies and academia working to improve soil health and nutrient management practices.

Indiana agricultural, commodity and conservation organizations, academia and local, state and federal agencies teamed up to form IANA. IANA was created to identify ways the partners can jointly enhance their programs to further the shared goal of improving nutrient use efficiency to reduce nutrient loss from agricultural production areas. The ultimate goal of IANA is to enhance water quality for the general public throughout the State of Indiana. IANA will be instrumental in fostering the growing collaboration of the participating organizations and sharing important information about soil health and nutrient management directly with farmers. IANAs collaborative approach enhances each organizations endeavors in achieving Indianas nutrient management soil health strategy NMSFH goals.
