Form 990, Part III, Line 4D: Other Program Services Description

OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Internship Program: Program matches interested local college area students with local businesses for the duration of the program, and students perform actual work with employee supervision. The program receives approximately 130 applications and places approximately 20 students with businesses. This internship program has won a local and a statewide award for its excellence. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Oregon Works: The program is a workforce development internship initiative aimed at collegiate students and graduating high school seniors. Relationships were built with local business and industry to better develop a workforce pipeline to introduce targeted students with targeted job opportunities. Information was gathered from local business job descriptions to best match the interests of individual students with each company. Continuation of the program depends on revenue replacement of the grant that funded the program initially.

This activity includes fielding phone calls regarding a variety of information requests from area businesses, prospective businesses, other economic development organizations and the City of McMinnville. Information is sent to requestors as appropriate and appointments with business executives are conducted via telephone and in person with occasional travel outside the area to meet prospective leaders interested in moving to the area.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Internship Program: Program matches interested local college area students with local businesses for the duration of the program, and students perform actual work with employee supervision. The program receives approximately 130 applications and places approximately 20 students with businesses. This internship program has won a local and a statewide award for its excellence. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Oregon Works: The program is a workforce development internship initiative aimed at collegiate students and graduating high school seniors. Relationships were built with local business and industry to better develop a workforce pipeline to introduce targeted students with targeted job opportunities. Information was gathered from local business job descriptions to best match the interests of individual students with each company. Continuation of the program depends on revenue replacement of the grant that funded the program initially.
