The kansas city campus for animal care is a public-private partnership focusing on pet adoption, pet retention, education and outreach to both adults and youth. The campus, operated by kc pet project, is the third largest no-kill, open admission animal shelter in the united states and will offer a broad range of programs and services that define the standard of care for animal welfare in america, impacting the lives of over 25,000 kansas city families annually. The community education pavilion will be the heart and soul of the new campus, providing children and families with a portfolio of educational opportunities designed to positively impact both human domestic violence and animal abuse in our region, as well as teach children about humane education, responsible pet ownership, and how they can make a difference in the lives of animals in their community.
