“The foundation's goal is to become a nationally recognized leader in the promotion of youth sports as a vehicle to obtain a quality education. A specific aim is to serve student athletes in underserved areas in order to provide the same or similar opportunities as those student athletes whose families are better able to provide them with the financial support to attend elective and highly selective colleges.”

“In 2018, reggie formed the reggie smith foundation, a 501 (c) (3) tax- exempt organization dedicated to youth sports, principally baseball and softball. The foundation is the culmination of decades of reggie's work with youth baseball and his commitment to improve the development and character of youth through positive participation in sports. While reggie still teaches hitting to college and professional players and mentors young coaches (many of whom now coach at the professional and collegiate levels), his first love is teaching the game of baseball - and all of its life lessons - to today's youth. The program currently provides sports training and participation in a safe, respectful environment to youths from ages 8 to 17, as well as providing resources and recruiting assistance to high school aged student-athletes interested in competing at the collegiate level. Through the generous support of donors, the foundation has provided financial support for many players from underserved areas who cannot afford the high cost of participating in showcases and travel teams.”
