The program goal is to provide life skills development over the eight-week course period to transition them from: welfare to work[:comma:] incarceration back into the community[:comma:] public housing to homeownership substance abuse[:comma:] homelessness[:comma:] and young people transitioning to successful employment and independence. The eight-week course provides women with critical business skills and the confidence to put them to use. This class provides in-depth job readiness training including cognitive skill building[:comma:] soft skills training[:comma:] interviewing[:comma:] and other job-related topics. Upon completion[:comma:] each participant develops a life plan exploring the segments of employment[:comma:] education[:comma:] finances[:comma:] housing[:comma:] transportation and health [:amp:] wellness. This life plan is then supported by a comprehensive set of ongoing services coordinating several jobs and social programs so that the women can address multiple barriers
