Good Neighbor Initiative Compensation Policy 1. Scope: This policy applies to all offices and positions, particularly those with decision-making authority or significant responsibilities in the Good Neighbor Initiative. 3. Policy Authority: The Board of Directors of the Good Neighbor Initiative is responsible for the adoption, oversight, and enforcement of this policy. 4. Compensation Review Process: a. Identification of Roles: The Board will annually identify the roles for which compensation needs to be determined or reviewed. b. Use of Comparative Data: Reasonable compensation levels will be determined using salary data from comparable organizations within the housing sector and the local area. This may include salary surveys, sector reports, and other relevant sources. c. Independence in Decision-Making: Board members or officers involved in setting compensation must be free from conflicts of interest regarding the compensation arrangements. d. This delay, though unintended, was a result of a combination of unforeseen staffing challenges and the sudden unavailability of our previous accountant. In recent months, our organization has been facing significant short-staffing issues. This has placed an increased burden on our remaining staff members, stretching our resources thin and impacting our ability to maintain our usual efficiency in administrative tasks. We have been actively recruiting to fill these gaps, but the process has been slower than anticipated, further exacerbating the situation. Compounding this issue, our previous accountant, who had been entrusted with the preparation and filing of our Form 990, informed us only 10 days prior to the filing deadline that they were unable to complete the task due to their overwhelming workload. This sudden notification left us in a precarious position, as we had limited time to find a suitable replacement who could understand the complexities of our financials and complete the form accurately and promptly. Despite these challenges, we have worked diligently to address the situation. We have since engaged a new accountant who has been working tirelessly to prepare the form. We are committed to ensuring complete and accurate financial reporting and are taking all necessary steps to submit the form as soon as possible. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused and assure you of our dedication to transparency and compliance.
