“Delivering group horticultural therapy programs to address the primary need of reducing chronic social isolation through purposeful and engaging gardening and horticulture activities. The health and wellness benefits gained include a reduction of stress, anxiety, and pain, and sensory stimulation that refocuses the mind and can improve cognition. Supported gardening in a safe and accessible space promotes independence, self- satisfaction and increases self-confidence for populations served, and at risk for chronic social isolation, including spinal cord and brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, post-traumatic stress, dementia, intellectual disabilities and others. During 2024, the organization delivered 158 garden therapy sessions (an average of 13 sessions per month) serving a total of 169 individuals.”
