Community-engaged alliance is a non-profit partnership of indiana's public, private, and community college higher education institutions focused on advocating, implementing, and improving community engagement efforts so that students graduate as well-informed, engaged, and productive members of society who are fully enabled to provide leadership and service that advances the public good in their communities.

Power to appoint the governing body: at least half of the the board of director will be comprised of presidents and chancellors of the partner institutions. The partner institutions must be a an accredited college or university located in indiana.

Process used to review form 990: the organization engages an outside accounting firm to prepare its form 990. Once the form 990 is prepared by the accounting firm and reviewed by management, the final form is provided to the entire board of directors via email, where questions and comments regarding the final form 990 are addressed prior to filing.
