Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Generation US purpose is to support and benefit Jobs for Maine's Graduates (JMG), a Maine non-profit organization. It conducts fundraising activities aimed at both generating funds for and also to cover expenses related to activities carried on by the organization. The Organization also conducts development and administrative services that will be offered to the organization in order to allow it to shift focus away from day to day administrative tasks.

“The form 990 is prepared by the Organization's independent accountants. Prior to filing, the Organization's Finance Committee reviews and recommends acceptance to the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee then reviews and votes to accept and sends it out to the entire governing body.”

“In connection with any actual or possible conflicts of interest, an interested person must disclose the existence of his or her financial interest and must be given an opportunity to disclose all material facts to the Directors and members of committees with Board-delegated powers considering the proposed transaction or arrangement. Each Director, officer, and member of any committee with Board-delegated powers shall annually sign a statement which affirms that such person has received a copy of the conflicts of interest policy, has read and understands the conflict of interest policy, and has agreed to comply with the policy.”

“The organization has an evaluation process in place. All key employees have an annual evaluation. The President's compensation is decided on by the Board of Directors after his review. They also have an independent salary study done using the Maine Association for Non Profits, Guide Star Survey of Non Profit Executives and Non Profit Times Salary Survey. Those surveys were used for determining compensation for the president and top management.”
