The charitable purpose for which the corporation is formed is to relieve the poor and distressed and to advance the health and social well-being of elderly, disabled, underpriviledged and otherwise needy persons living in oswego new york and its surrounding communities by advising and assisting in the planning and coordination of the activities and functions of: (a) st. Luke residential health care facility, inc.;(b)bishop's commons, inc.; (c) st. Francis commons, inc.; (d) the st. Luke john foster burden corporation; and (e) such other nonprofit organizations recognized under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, as amended, as may hereafter be affiliated with the above not-for-profit corporations.

The finance committee reviews the form 990. Once the finance committee reviews and approves the form 990, it is presented to the board of directors for final approval, and the approved form 990 is filed with the irs.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

The organization enforces its conflict of interest policy by requiring the board of directors and officers to complete and sign an annual conflict of interest statement. The conflict of interest policy is regularly and consistently monitored throughout the year by the management committee for any changes.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

In 2008, the board of directors contracted with an outside management consultant firm to perform a salary review for the executive director of st. Luke residential health care facility, inc. And their related organizations. The management consulting firm conducted a survey of several similar organizations and compiled data related to education, salary, other compensation, responsibilities, etc. This information was used by the board of directors to determine levels of compensation for the executive directors. Periodically, this salary review is conducted and updated as needed.
