The colorado longitudinal study (cols) is building the world's most comprehensive longitudinal collection of biological specimens matched with clinical health and social determinants of health data. This data will enable researchers to study the complex relationships that determine health, leading to unprecedented advances in health, health care, and health equity.”

“In 2024, cols restructured by bringing on an interim executive director. The board of directors and staff of cols remained focused on the mission through the transition and retained 100% of the board and talent. The team continued to focus on growth of participants in the cols program. An additional focus was on bringing back prior participants, to solidify longitudinal impact of the program. A new fundraising tool at cols was implemented to capture and track an increasing pipeline of potential donors. Cols continues to collaborate with colorado state university's columbine health systems center for healthy aging (cha) and the human performance clinical research laboratory (hpcrl). The cha provides a welcoming space for our participant visits and infrastructure (phlebotomy room and participant sample processing). The hpcrl's staff house and monitor cols biological specimens, and provide additional expertise and equipment, as needed.
