“The form 990 is reviewed by the board president and treasurer before filing. A copy of the form 990 is made available to the board members before filing.”
“Each year board members have to review the policy and sign the acknowledgment. New board members complete a conflict of interest form when they first join. All the acknowledgments come to the executive director. Conflicts are reviewed by the uptown westerville executive board. Board members with a conflict abstain from voting on the issue.”
“Annual compensation was determined originally when the executive director was hired in 2017 by the board president and voted on by the full board of directors. The organization uses comparable salaries from the main street directors in similar sized programs in ohio. Heritage ohio, the administrator of ohio's main street america program was used as the basis for the data. Increase in salary was based on satisfactory and exceptional performance and average pay trends for percentage of increase. The decisions for executive director compensation are documented in the board of directors meeting minutes. The process was last undertaken during budget review in january.”

“Planning and implementing community building events such as: uptown cookie walk - an annual community favorite event bringing people into westerville from over 25 other communities; uptown untapped - westerville's original outdoor beer event, uptown untapped celebrates the city's dry history with a craft beer event hosted on the dry streets of uptown westerville. The event is a celebration of local craft beer, local breweries and local restaurants and hosted about 2,000 community members, 15 local breweries, 2 local bands and 6 local eateries; the westerville farmers' market, which had over 60 vendors and attracted an average of 3,500 people per week over 21 weeks from may through october and also offered supplemental nutrition programs like snap, produce perks and wic; and fourth friday street festivals, hosting over 150 pop up businesses and attracting from 10,000 to 20,000 visitors each month may-october. The festival is free to the public and offers music, entertainment, community groups, children's activities, an interactive science exhibit and dance performances. There were 33 uptown clue walking tours in 2024, with 20 attendees per tour.”

THE EVENT IS A CELEBRATION OF LOCAL CRAFT BEER, LOCAL BREWERIES AND LOCAL RESTAURANTS AND HOSTED ABOUT 2,000 COMMUNITY MEMBERS, 15 LOCAL BREWERIES, 2 LOCAL BANDS AND 6 LOCAL EATERIES; THE WESTERVILLE FARMERS' MARKET, WHICH HAD OVER 60 VENDORS AND ATTRACTED AN AVERAGE OF 3,500 PEOPLE PER WEEK OVER 21 WEEKS FROM MAY THROUGH OCTOBER AND ALSO OFFERED SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION PROGRAMS LIKE SNAP, PRODUCE PERKS AND WIC; AND FOURTH FRIDAY STREET FESTIVALS, HOSTING OVER 150 POP UP BUSINESSES AND ATTRACTING FROM 10,000 TO 20,000 VISITORS EACH MONTH MAY-OCTOBER. THE FESTIVAL IS FREE TO THE PUBLIC AND OFFERS MUSIC, ENTERTAINMENT, COMMUNITY GROUPS, CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES, AN INTERACTIVE SCIENCE EXHIBIT AND DANCE PERFORMANCES. THERE WERE 33 UPTOWN CLUE WALKING TOURS IN 2024, WITH 20 ATTENDEES PER TOUR. |
