“The super senior international pickleball association (ssipa) is organized to support the growth of pickleball around the world, through a social, competative environment for players of all skill levels aged 60 plus.”

“Education and promotion - the association was organized to promote the growth and development of pickleball among its senior membership participants. The association provides a platform for building knowledge of the sport, promoting increased participation in play and opportunities to participate in local and international tournaments sanctioned by national and international organizations. The association is committed to further the growth of pickleball among players. It will continue to provide the infrastructure for the development of the sport for its members via e-mail, newsletters and other forms of communication. The association promotes the sport of pickleball in a safe and fulfilling environment for all levels of players. Memberships are available for individuals aged 50 and above. The association currently has 2,481 members.”

“Tournaments - the association coordinates tournaments to promote knowledge, growth of the game, for skill development, for physical exercise and to simply have fun while playing pickleball. A tournament allows players to be ranked on a national as well as international level by receiving tournament points in approved events. Tournament events are insured by a general liability policy and participant accident policy. In 2020, the association had 36 tournaments scheduled but due to the coronavrus was only able to complete 12 of the scheduled tournaments.”
