IRS990/Desc0The Nutrition Coalition (TNC) has continued its programs to educate nutrition influencers and the general public about the need for evidence-based nutrition policy in order to combat chronic, nutrition-related diseases in America. Specifically, TNC has educated audiences about the reliance of nutri- tion policy on weak evidence to date; about the need for the process producing the Dietary Guidelines for Americans to adopt recommenda- tions, by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering,and Medicine ,for greater scientific rigor; and about the mismatch between the narrow scope of the Guidelines and the diverse nutritional needs of the nation.
