“National weather association foundation's purpose is to collect and disperse funds that will support college and university students pursuing careers in meteorology, as well as educators and organizations engaged in offering education on weather related topics.”

“Issuance of scholarships - the national weather association foundation (nwaf) awards scholarships and grants to undergraduate and, in some cases, graduate students majoring in meteorology or a related field. The nwaf also awards sol hirsch education fund grants annually to teachers/educators of grades k-12 to help improve the education of their students, school and/or community in the science of meteorology.”

“Annual meeting event - in connection to the national weather association annual meeting, an event, weatherready fest, will be hosted. Weatherready fest provides an opportunity for kids and adults alike to experience weather first-hand and learn how to prepare for nature's worst disasters. Weatherready fest will include games, expert panels/speakers, as well as vehicles and equipment used by emergency managers and weather broadcasters.”
