Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
In the 2023-24 Fiscal year, we ran three seasons of programming for both teens and adults: Fall, Winter/Spring, and Summer. TEEN PROGRAMS included our free Neurodiversity Workshop and a new Neurodiversity Corps which completed an Eagle Scout project of creating 100 sensory kits, distributed to area organizations. Our Social Meetup groups for both Middle School and High School kids became very popular this year, as did our online gaming groups on Discord and Minecraft. All together, we served an estimated average of 90-100 teens per season, with several enrolling in multiple groups, and most returning season after season. ADULT PROGRAMS included free biweekly Virtual "Happy Hours," two Support Groups, a Social Strategies Workshop, and a free monthly Social Meetup, and we added a Role-Playing Games group, a Cooking Class, and a weekly Game Night over the summer. In the final month of our fiscal year we left our office space and signed a lease on a space of our own, about a mile up the road. Because we were without space over the summer and did not run our usual programs, we had little revenue. We were able to continue with a few of our online programs and we also partnered with Best Buddies for a few adult meetups at nearby American University, and with the National Portrait Gallery on a neurodiversity friendly class on portraiture. In the Spring of 2024 we also hosted another well-attended Neurodiversity Roundtable, conducted a community survey gauging interest in our new space and gathering feedback about our programming, set up a Community Committee as a volunteer pool to help us with our new space, and wrote and got our first grant from the Cafritz Foundation.$19,148$66,460

Form 990-EZ, Part II, Line 24

As of June 30, 2024, DC Peers owned a few pieces of furniture and equipment (3 shelves, a couch, a printer that was donated, and a variety of games and crafting supplies) that were mostly donated or paid for under "office supplies." We have not yet figured out how to value and assess those, so this is an estimate.
