Nwhsu Student Senate

“The cabinet of the senate are responsible for day to day workings and emergency decisions required for the senate. The cabinet is comprised of 9 members of the senate.”

“All students registered with northwestern health sciences university are members.”

“All students registered with nwhsu are members and are entitled to one voting ballot in the election for their class representative to the senate.”

“All students registered with nwhsu are members and are entitled to one vote at the general meeting of the senate. Amendment of the bylaws must be approved the student body of nwhsu as well as the president of nwhsu. An officer may be removed from office by the affirmative vote of a majority of the members of the student body present at a duly held general meeting of the student body if: the officer is found (or pleads) guilty in a court of law to committing a felony or gross misdemeanor; the officer engages in abuse or misappropriation of finances, resources, or private information belonging to the nwhsu student senate; the officer misrepresents the nwhsu student senate in legal or public matters; the officer engages in an act of willful misconduct or gross negligence; the officer engages in any act which is not illegal but is deemed to be offensive or abusive of a member of the student body; or the officer engages in an act that disparages the goodwill or reputation of nwhsu or the nwhsu student senate.”

“Upon completion, the form 990 was distributed to the cabinet of the student senate for review. The completed form is provided to all senate members for their review and acceptance prior to filing.”

“Each director and officer shall complete, sign and deliver to the president a conflicts of interest policy annual statement and a confidentiality agreement at the time of his or her initial election or appointment and annually thereafter. The president may also require the foregoing from such other key management employees as the president shall determine is necessary. The conflicts of interest policy annual statement and confidentiality agreement shall be in such forms as are deemed appropriate by the president with advice from this corporation's counsel. Interested persons must disclose the existence and nature of their conflict of interest to the board of directors or members of committees considering the proposed transaction or arrangement. Conflicts of interest are reviewed and determined by the board (or committee). After disclosure of the conflict of interest and all material facts, and after any discussion with the interested person, the interested person must leave the meeting of the board (or committee) while the conflict of interest is discussed and voted upon. After exercising due diligence, the board (or committee) shall determine whether this corporation can obtain a more advantageous transaction or arrangement with reasonable efforts from a person or entity that would not give rise to a conflict of interest.”

“The organizations governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements are made available to the public upon request.”
