Tense Summit

TENSE Summit provides education on to combat negative stereotypes and promote the well being of communities through a short power presentations and activities, which are currently being distributed through the annual TENSE Summit. The TENSE Summit model encourages communities to partner with a local institution of higher education with the capabilities to host speakers and presenters. This gives middle school and high school age youth the opportunity to become familiar with a college campus and participate in the presentation, activities, and entertainment. Each part of the summit is geared to engage the youth and inspire a thirst for knowledge, a call to action, or fostering support within the community.

It is the mission, duty and purpose of TENSE Summit to empowering young leaders to create positive growth in their communities by spreading knowledge and ideas through education, music and style. Our vision is that by providing this knowledge that young leaders will be inspired to advocate for and support under served communities. If we see a path to break a cycle that is represented in negative stereotypes in our community, it is our duty to share the path to break out of the cycle. We believe that education or knowledge combined with action is the catalyst to change a community for the better economically, socially, and culturally.
