“In 2019-20, brass continued its initial work to continue avalanche safety advocacy with u.s. Ski & snowboard through an initiative to create and deploy relevant introductory education for all members (18 and older) and coaches. Working in partnership with the utah avalanche center, online learning modules were developed, reaching over 1,200 coaches in initial deployment in 2019-20. Brass 101 introductory education presentations reached over 2,000 athletes and coaches. With the advent of the covid-19 pandemic, brass' 'think before you go' social media campaign reached thousands with a message of caution in the backcountry. In summer, 2019, brass' outreach with the national ski areas association reached hundreds of resorts nationwide. Viewing of brass' off piste video continued to grow with over a million views.”
