Mission

Our hope is that our work will help foster children to be placed in a home in a timelier manner, avoiding lengthy stays in shelters and group homes. Prospective foster families will fulfill their state requirements and be granted licenses quicker, thus allowing them to begin receiving much needed resources only available to licensed caregivers.

Boost a foster family was created to meet the needs of low-income kinship families applying for foster care licensure.

BOOST ASSISTED THESE FAMILIES AND CHILDREN BY PROVIDING SAFETY ITEMS TO KINSHIP FAMILIES. OF THE FAMILIES SERVED, OVER 70 WERE CONSIDERED LOW-INCOME. BOOST A FOSTER FAMILY INCREASED ITS VOLUNTEER BASE AND REFERRAL SOURCES, WHILE ALSO EXPANDING COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND SECURING GRANT RESOURCES. IN 2025, BOOST WILL CONTINUE ITS WORK SUPPORTING ARIZONA KINSHIP FOSTER FAMILIES BY PROVIDING ESSENTIAL SAFETY ITEMS AND SERVICES, SUCH AS FIRE EXTINGUISHERS, SMOKE ALARMS, CPR CLASSES, BEDDING, DOCTORS PHYSICALS, AND POOL FENCES, AMONG OTHERS.

THIS PROCESS REQUIRES KIN FAMILIES TO ATTEND TRAINING, BECOME CPR CERTIFIED, PASS A MEDICAL EXAM, PASS A LIFE SAFETY INSPECTION, AND COMPLETE SEVERAL OTHER TASKS WHICH CAN BRING FINANCIAL STRESS UPON THE FAMILY. THIS STRESS, IN TURN, CAN DELAY OR PREVENT A KIN FAMILY FROM BECOMING LICENSED. WE RECEIVE REFERRALS FROM THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF CHILD SERVICES, LICENSING AGENCIES, AND THOSE ARE WORKING WITH FAMILIES EXPERIENCING FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES. WE BELIEVE THAT BY HELPING TO PROVIDE IN-KIND DONATIONS AND ASSISTANCE SUCH AS FIRE EXTINGUISHERS, SMOKE ALARMS, FEES FOR CPR CLASSES, WE CAN REMOVE SOME OF THE OBSTACLES THAT SLOW DOWN THE LICENSING PROCESS WHILE MAKING THE HOME SAFE FOR THESE VULNERABLE CHILDREN. BOOST A FOSTER FAMILY ASSISTS THESE LOW-INCOME FAMILIES WITH A NUMBER OF ITEMS, ASSISTANCE AND SERVICES CUSTOMIZED TO FIT EACH FAMILYS UNIQUE NEEDS. OUR SERVICES NOT ONLY HELP THE KIN FAMILY BECOME LICENSED, BUT ALSO HELP ENSURE THAT EACH FOSTER CHILD IS IN THE SAFEST ENVIRONMENT POSSIBLE.
