Form 990, Part VI, Line 12C: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts

Directors are required to disclose conflict of interest through initial questionnaire and subsequent reporting. The President of the United Methodist Homes of New Jersey reviews these and maintains the records.If a conflict is disclosed by a Board member or officer, the remaining Board members will discuss the conflict and decide if a conflict exists. The Board members will then decide on the appropriate action.If a conflict is disclosed by an associate, the Corporate Compliance Officer and Executive Director will review the information and determine if there is a conflict. If it is determined there is a conflict, steps will be taken which include which include discontinuation of the arrangement and/or termination of employment.

The compensation of the Executive Director, who is the top management official, is reviewed annually by the management company, United Methodist Homes of New Jersey, and compared to competitive salary data in accordance with policies of United Methodist Homes of New Jersey.
