“Activities of the ECNY Foundation, Inc.: NYIT (New York Institute of Technology) Executive Advisory Board Member: Keynote Speaker Presentation on the current state and future of finding employment. OUTCOME: How has technology altered the landscape, and what key factors are needed to successfully land a job. Nassau Workforce Development Board Presentation to Board and over two dozen Long Island organizations. OUTCOME: Board Appointment for 3 years and access to updated workforce development information. In addition, an application to PSEG for funding through guidance from Long Island Director, John Keating. JobLine Radio/Long Island Radio Radio show Host, Scott Passeser has allowed ECNY Foundation, Inc/CareerMapLI.Org to run with radio show ideas as Executive Producers. OUTCOME: This is allowing us to put together shows that expose students to new industries, growing niches, trades, etc. Shows include: Networking for Success as a Student with speakers including President at Suffolk County Community College and Local Trades leaders for Trades are Viable, Apprenticeship Programs, with our CareerMapLI Committee Member and ECNY Foundation, Inc. Board Member Michael Todisco. This is allowing us to extend our voice beyond social media alone, with the ability to provide partners a Win-Win opportunity to share their opportunities. Programs pending include Manufacturing Today. Islip West High School Active Islip West Industry Advisory Board Members: Virtual Enterprise COO Student Interviews. OUTCOME: Assisted in the Executive Virtual Enterprise Hiring Process by interviewing interested students for the Chief Operating Officer position and providing insight for each candidate and recommendations on final hire. Smithtown High School District Active Executive Industry Advisory Board Members: Elevator Pitch Development, LinkedIn Development and Speed Interview Program Development for Juniors and Seniors. OUTCOME: An increase in Student LinkedIn Profiles Created, Student exposure to industry leaders and personal development through mock interviews. Brentwood High School Job Fair & Speakers Event Importance of Planning for Future Success presentation by ECNY Board Members. CareerMapLI.Org introduced. OUTCOME: Introduction to CEO (Career and Employment Options) Organization Collaboration and student sign up increased by 33 students in two days. Islip West High School Active Islip West Industry Advisory Board Members: LinkedIn & Networking for a Job Training Program LinkedIn & Networking training program. Introduction to CareerMapLI and how identifying various industries, skillsets/education necessary and viability of trades. OUTCOME: Increase of 21 student accounts created on CMLI and visible LinkedIn activity via invitation requests. Oyster Bay High School LinkedIn Profile Development Workshop. Introduction to LinkedIn and best practices for profile development. OUTCOME: An increase in LinkedIn Profiles developed and activity via invitation requests. Southern Connecticut State University Workshops on Your iBrand, LinkedIn Setting and LinkedIn Profile best practices. OUTCOME: An increase in LinkedIn Profiles developed and networking activity, Elevator Pitch development and a more thorough understanding and comfort in expounding on ones skillsets and how to answer the Tell Me About Yourself question. Sachem North High School LinkedIn Profile Development Workshop. Introduction to LinkedIn and best practices for profile development. OUTCOME: An increase in LinkedIn Profiles developed and activity via invitation requests. Smithtown High Schools (East & West) Elevator Pitch Perfect Training Training on how to use CareerMapLI to find industry information, best practices, and Elevator Pitch development training for Pitch Perfect event. OUTCOME: Students were successful in expounding on their skillsets and (very proud to say) nailed their practice interviews! Increase in Educator and Student CMLI sign-ups 30+.”
