“LIEBuilds Accomplishments 1. LIFEBuild provides trade skill instruction and hands-on training to at-risk youth and young adults. The trainees obtain one or multiple industry certifications to prepare them for a career associated with the trades within residental construction and facilities maintenance. 2. LIFEBuild provides life skills coaching and mentoring for students in order to reinforce healthy and positive decision making habits, introduce financial literacy, foster social/soft skills mastery, improve job readiness, and to reduce delinquency. 3. LIFEBuild career development services partner with employers, case management personnel, and community advocates to secure student employment, provide continuous learning opportunities, and reduce the barriers of entry to stable employment for at-risk students. 4. LIFEBuilds Construction JUMP program has served 32 total justice-involved students of which 14 are currently in the program. A total of 23 certifications have been awarded in foundational construction, carpentry, and electric. For the students released from detention, 88% of the students were employed in a job within 1 year post-release with 38% in construction related jobs. 5. LIFEBuilds Detention Center Mentoring Group serves 23 young men who gather bi-weekly for positive adult guidance and coaching that supports emotional resilience, mental toughness, accountability, leadership development, and a vision for a productive future. Sessions are facilitated by professionals and trained mentors including several who were justice-impacted professionals who serve as credible messengers and role models. The primary outcome is that each student leaves the center with tools that enable them to thrive in any environment.”
