Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The general purposes of the regional community park foundation are public, charitable, and educational. Its mission is to bring much-needed facilities, (i.e., a regional community park), to tuolumne county to be used for the purpose of healthy recreation, as well as community cohesion and enrichment. Specifically, the purpose of the non-profit is to design, develop, fundraise, permit, construct, and manage the facilities for the benefit of the community through recreation, sports, and the arts.the park foundation is optimistic about reaching a purchase and sale agreement with sonora union high school district by the close of 2018 to obtain 112 acres of centrally located land to develop a public park.

The Park Foundation is optimistic about current negotiations for land acquisition and hopes to make significant progress into the new fiscal year. In parallel, The Park Foundation has been developing an organizational structure to work with potential partner organizations in the future.

The Park Foundation follows a conflict of interest policy designed to foster public confidence in its integrity and to protect the Park Foundations interest(s). At the annual meeting, each Board of Director acknowledges to have received a copy of the conflict of interest policy, to have read and understood the policy, to comply with the policy, and to understand the corporation is charitable and to maintain its Federal Tax Exemption that it must engage primarily in activities which accomplishes one or more of its tax-excempt purposes.At the annual meeting, each Director discloses, to the best of his/her knowledge, whether or not his/her interests and relationships give rise to a conflict of interest, whether or not his/her interests and relationships have changed since the last disclosure, or discloses or updates his/her interests and relationships that could give rise to a conflict of interest.
