“Adult programming- the midtown mamas and men's club combat isolation among at-risk seniors facing health challenges and transportation barriers. In 2024, 40 seniors accessed free health and financial literacy workshops, exercise activities, field trips and community events, improving health outcomes through socialization and connection. Community garden programming- midtown operates a 1/4-acre community garden in a designated food desert, where volunteers grow fresh produce distributed free of charge through food boxes to elderly and disabled residents, city greens market, and no limit outreach food pantry. The garden club meets every tuesday, friday and saturday morning during the growing season. The garden also serves as an outdoor classroom for youth programs, teaching children to grow fruits and vegetables and prepare healthy meals. Community programming- beyond its direct care programs, midtown addresses critical needs for vulnerable community members through outreach and support services. The organization provides lunches and essential supplies to more than 120 unhoused individuals through its homeless outreach initiatives. During the holiday season, the holiday sponsorship program serves 231 individuals, connecting them with resources and support to celebrate the holidays with dignity. Midtown also hosts community engagement activities throughout the year, including a health fair, black history month celebration, fish fry, spaghetti game night, fall fest, breakfest with santa and community christmas party.”
