Kristi knous served as an officer and board member of the community foundation of greater des moines for the entirety of the year ending july 31, 2025. Dan houston served as a board member of the community foundation of greater des moines until november 12, 2025 and also served as a board member of the principal charity classic for the entirety of the year ending july 31, 2025. Additionally, dan houston served as chief executive officer and chair of principal financial group until january 7, 2025, and continued to serve as chair until august 19, 2025. Ken mccullum, beth wood, and jo christine miles have a business relationship with dan houston as they are employed by principal financial group, the organization of which dan houston served as ceo and chair during part of 2025.”
“The classic operates under an agreement with an event management company for tournament management and bookkeeping services. The agreement was renewed, extending the expiration date to july 31, 2028. The management and bookkeeping fees were $25,500 per month during the fiscal year ended july 31, 2025. The classic also reimburses the management company for the actual salaries of the management company's core tournament staff, plus 25% for employer provided benefits. In addition, the management company receives a bonus equal to 20% of the net operating income as defined in the agreement of the classic.
