“Educational seminars - thirteen educational seminars are offered during the event weekend; 11 classroom style with industry experts teaching on a variety of subjects, 3 free and open to the public, 2 experiential & non- classroom based sessions. Approximately one third of the educational sessions are focused on technical brewing processes and analyses, one third are sensory based for novices and those looking to learn about beer & food, and the final third is a random collection other beer-related topics. Judges cna also earn continuing educations credits for the beer judge certification program by attending specific educational seminars approved in advance of the weekend.”
“Dining events - three dining events are offered annually, combining culinary experiences with beer from a rotating selection of breweries. The events are guided by the owners and brewmasters of the breweries together with the chefs who created the pairing menus. This is educaitonal, experiential, and socail, supporting the industry in many different ways through each event.”
“Commercial tasting - the largest programming event of the weekend, this event hosts breweries from all over the world to share and discuss their beers with attendees and other brewers. The educational tasting program details each brewery, the beers being served, and tasting notes, stylistic notes, statistics and comments for each. With the number of beers offered, the program is an extensive tribute to the opportunity provided to the attendee, including not only the tasting but also the discussion with those who invented/crafted teh beverage. Further, the larger percentage of brewery owners and brewmasters attending creates an atmosphere for discussion between breweries about techniques and apporaches to brewing to augment the educational eminar opportunities earlier in the weekend.”
