The foundation is organized exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. As such, the foundation is exempt from federal income taxes. It has been classified as an organization that is not a private foundation under section 509(a) of the internal revenue code, and it qualifies for the charitable contributions deduction for donors. The foundation is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress.
