“* STAR Prison Inmate Training Program - CARE Supports the dogs and trainers. This includes dog food, training treats, plastic dog crates, monthly heartworm preventatives, collars, leashes, graduation certificates, printing, trainer shirts, truck rental for transport, fuel, food for graduation celebrations. 70 handlers, 2024 = 36 dogs through the STAR * Seniors for Seniors Program ? CARE helps senior individuals who want the companionship of a dog but are at the point in their lives where they need help so we keep the dog under the umbrella of CARE. This includes dog food, metal dog crates, monthly heartworm preventatives, collars, leashes, spay or neuter, vaccinations, grooming and any other veterinary care required. * Community Support. This includes help with spays/neuters/food/medications for those in need including Kenwood Animal Shelter on Cherokee Nation tribal lands. Additionally, we have maintained a constant influx of dogs from the shelter, abandoned on the street and some owner surrenders from situations where owners have lost homes and jobs. Assistance to help the owner keep the dog if they are able though. Donations of dog food, collars, and leashes to local homeless individuals with dogs. *Tails of Hope ? CARE supports a monthly transport relationship with a sister rescue in Wisconsin to help some of these pups get a chance in a less populated area. This includes Veterinarian certified health certificate for each dog, housing and care until the dog is transported. 2024 total transports = 128 *Foster Program ? Dogs are housed with foster volunteers. This includes - Dog food, Veterinary care, microchips, heartworm, puppy pads, metal crates, spay or neuter. Total adopted 2024 = 112 Administrative Expenses ?
