KANPE brings support to most vulnerable families of Haiti's Central Plateau to help them achieve financial autonomy. We_give them a voice so that they can express their own needs, priorities and goals. Our role is to help these communities to be accompanied by Haitian organizations who bring the complementary skills, knowledge, tools, and training necessary to provide guidance on the path to autonomy.

The KANPE Foundation accompanies underserved rural communities of Haiti's Central Plateau on their path towards autonomy. We do so by supporting access to healthcare and education, agroforestry initiatives, entrepreneurship, leadership and local infrastructure strenghtening.

IRS990/Desc0In collaboration with its Haitian partners, The KANPE Foundation supports families and their communities as they work to achieve autonomy by strengthening six essential pillars: health and nutrition, agriculture, education, entrepreneurship, leadership, and improvement of local infrastructure. In 2021, we were able to provide support to the management of the public elementary school for the preparation and distribution of hot meals to 450 students, music classes, in-ongoing training for teachers; maintenance of the building and a new agroforestry teaching program as well as capacity building training for local women's organizations.

IRS990/MissionDesc0KANPE, which means "to stand up" in Haitian Creole, is a foundation that supports underserved rural communities in Haiti to help them overcome socio-economic barriers on their way to autonomy. KANPE supports the community of Baille Tourible (BT) in the remote highlands of Haiti's Central Plateau, distinguished by its mountainous terrain, geographic isolation, and difficult access by road. We focus on a holistic and integrated approach, ensuring access to free, quality healthcare and education, economic opportunities, entrepreneurship, local infrastructure strengthening, leadership and agroforestry. We give the poorest a voice so that they can express their needs, priorities, and goals, and we work with strong local Haitian organizations who bring skills, knowledge, tools, and training to support the community towards autonomy.
