Mission

To support growth of stem enrichment and education specifically the career training tech center, steam center of excellence and other programs including camps and workshops for students, families and educators.

Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Appropriate and/or required supplies, equipment, travel support, etc. were provided by R4Creating for each of the programs below. GENERAL (Program). The services provided under the General program included securing and/or paying for office space rental and moving from suite 107 to 103, utilities, insurance, supplies (including filament and 3D printing supplies), equipment, taxes, and staff for program planning and development; the maintenance of office space and equipment; and photocopying/printing, which served 3,075 students and adults. CAREER PATHWAY (Program). Worked with a variety of high school and college interns, offering career planning and mentoring as well as real experiences and projects including research, curriculum development, and business skills. RESEARCH (Program). Worked with Worcester Polytech Institute students to conduct research on Middle School Girls in New Mexico and their ability to pursue STEM pathways.$0$94,765
BE GREATER THAN AVERAGE (Program). The services provided under the Be Greater Than Average program included a Stop Motion Animation camp and a Media Arts workshop for which 135 students were served. These services were offered as part of a New Mexico Arts collaboration. Additionally, the Girls Into Tech program was offered in partnership with META in Valencia County to 15 girls.$0$30,584
BEST (R4Robotics Program). The services provided under the BEST R4Robotics program included mentoring 35 students to compete in state and regional BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology) robotics competitions, which competitions required students to build and drive robotics, give a marketing presentation, draft an engineering notebook, construct an exhibit booth, and engage in other various activities. OUTREACH/MARKETING (Program). The services provided under the Outreach/Marketing program included a variety of outreach events to which R4Creating and its students were invited to participate, including the Discovery Festival, STEM Fiesta, Albuquerque Balloon Museum STEM Family nights, Sandia Electric Car Competition, various APS school STEM festivals, Harvest Festival, Mayor's Sunday is Funday, NMTC Experience IT, UNM Women Tech Leaders, CASA Kids Christmas event, Santa Fe Indian School, and our own STEM Festival. Finally, we hosted the state's only Rubik's Cube competition with 100 competitors and nearly 200 observers where final awards were given out by the Mayor of Rio Rancho.
