FIRST ACCOMPLISHMENT:THE CONNECTICUT TOURISM COALITION EXPANDED ITS ALLIANCE BY ADDING THE CONNECTICUT LODGING ASSOCIATION AND THE CONNECTICUT SPORTS AND CONVENTION BUREAU ALONG WITH THE CONNECTICUT ARTS ALLIANCE AND CONNECTICUT HUMANITIES TO OBTAIN ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR CONNECTICUT ARTS, CULTURE, AND TOURISM. TO THAT END WE WORKED CLOSELY WITH THE CHAIRS OF THE FINANCE AND APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE AND MET WITH THE SPEAKER, SENATE PRESIDENT, AND MAJORITY LEADER IN THE SENATE TO OBTAIN THEIR SUPPORT FOR TAKING 10% OF THE 1% OF THE MEAL TAX TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL FUNDING TO THE THREE SECTORS. WE WILL CONTINUE THOSE EFFORTS IN THE 2026 LEGISLATIVE SESSION.SECOND ACCOMPLISHMENT:WE CONTINUE TO WORK WITH CONN. HUMANITIES, AND THE AMERICAN 250TH COMMISSION TO OBTAIN STATE FUNDING FOR THE COUNTRYS 250TH BIRTHDAY THIS JULY TO MARKET AND PROMOTE THE COUNTRYS BIRTHDAY AND CONNECTICUTS CONTRIBUTIONS IN ESTABLISHING THIS COUNTRY.THIRD ACCOMPLISHMENT:WE CONTINUE TO PROMOTE OUR CHAT PROGRAM (CONNECTICUT HOSPITALITY AWARENESS PROGRAM) THROUGH OUR MEMBERS, WHICH IS A 90-MINUTE ON-LINE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM THAT TEACHES THE BASICS OF GOOD CUSTOMER RELATIONS. IT IS CURRENTLY USED AS PART OF THE CURRICULUM AT GATEWAY COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND AS PART OF ORIENTATION OR NEW EMPLOYEE TRAINING BY COMPANIES AND ORGANIZATIONS IN CONN.-$59,572

TO THAT END WE WORKED CLOSELY WITH THE CHAIRS OF THE FINANCE AND APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE AND MET WITH THE SPEAKER, SENATE PRESIDENT, AND MAJORITY LEADER IN THE SENATE TO OBTAIN THEIR SUPPORT FOR TAKING 10% OF THE 1% OF THE MEAL TAX TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL FUNDING TO THE THREE SECTORS. WE WILL CONTINUE THOSE EFFORTS IN THE 2026 LEGISLATIVE SESSION.SECOND ACCOMPLISHMENT:WE CONTINUE TO WORK WITH CONN. HUMANITIES, AND THE AMERICAN 250TH COMMISSION TO OBTAIN STATE FUNDING FOR THE COUNTRYS 250TH BIRTHDAY THIS JULY TO MARKET AND PROMOTE THE COUNTRYS BIRTHDAY AND CONNECTICUTS CONTRIBUTIONS IN ESTABLISHING THIS COUNTRY.THIRD ACCOMPLISHMENT:WE CONTINUE TO PROMOTE OUR CHAT PROGRAM (CONNECTICUT HOSPITALITY AWARENESS PROGRAM) THROUGH OUR MEMBERS, WHICH IS A 90-MINUTE ON-LINE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM THAT TEACHES THE BASICS OF GOOD CUSTOMER RELATIONS. IT IS CURRENTLY USED AS PART OF THE CURRICULUM AT GATEWAY COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND AS PART OF ORIENTATION OR NEW EMPLOYEE TRAINING BY COMPANIES AND ORGANIZATIONS IN CONN.
