The Board meets regularly and maintains minutes for all meetings.”

“Part III, line 1: ISTRs mission is to advance knowledge about the Third Sector/Civil Society. Through its continuing operations, the Society seeks to: Motivate excellence in the research & study of the Third Sector/Civil Society & impactful dissemination & utilization of that knowledge, ideas, & research findings; Foster a global community & inclusive networking & learning amongst Third Sector scholars, practitioners, policymakers in all parts of the world & in all disciplines; Support research-informed teaching on all aspects of the Third Sector/Civil Society at all levels of education. To serve these purposes, the Society will hold research meetings & conferences; foster publications; support emerging scholars; & engage in other activities that further its mission. Part III, Line 4A - ISTR launched a new network of research center directors and hosted two in-person meetings of this network; introduced and renewed several affinity groups; adopted a new strategic plan; offered new opportunities to donate to ISTR, including the Margery Daniels Emerging PhD Seminar Fund and the ISTR Legacy Society; hosted a mentoring program; and hosted 8 online events. hosted an International PhD Seminar for 48 students and 13 faculty; and hosted the 16th International Conference in Antwerp, Belgium with 600 participants. The conference featured flexible forms of conference presentation modalities and invitations to the practitioner research, government research, and civil society organization communities to participate more fully in our network. ISTR presented Best Paper in Voluntas Awards for 2022 and 2023, the Lester M. Salamon Emerging Scholar Dissertation Award, the Best Poster 2024 award, and the 3 Minute Thesis Award. Our regional networks and PhD Seminar alumni published regular newsletters and began preparations for regional conferences planned for April and July 2025. Our journal, Voluntas, published 6 editions and we supported the transition of a new editor in chief. We published papers in our Working Papers Features and Conference Working Papers series; and the ISTR Springer Nonprofit and Civil Society Book Series transitioned in new editors and published The Future of Third Sector Research: From Theory to Definitions, Classifications and Aggregation Towards New Research Paths.”
