Mission

To study the life of general gordon baker jr., and make more widely known the social causes in which he was involved, the organizations he co-founded and supported, and his passion for continuing education. General baker institute will be a center for scholarship and the teaching of history in detroit and beyond, the examination of contemporary issues, social movements, and the development of educational materials and programs.
