“Family promise of grayson county (fpgc), is an orgnaiztion that assists families with minor children facing or experiencing homelessness. Our rotation program, for families already experinceing homelessness, provides shelter for families by allowing them to stay in local congregations a week or two at a time. Fpgc provides the beds and trained volunteers from the congregations provide meals and hospitality. On average 88% of hte families that participate in the rataion program find stable housing. Guests without jobs usually find them or enroll in shcool to increase their income potential. Our family hope (housing opportunities to prevent evictions) program aims to keep families in their own homes (and avoid the trauma of homelessness) by assisting with rent or utilities and providing budgeting skills and case management. Our transitional home (tabitha house) is for families that have "graduated" from the rotation program and need more time to meet their financial goals (e.g. Saving for a vehicle or for a down payment on a house) families pay their utilities and a program fee while living there. Fpgc engages may volunteers to minister in a loving and caring way for families in need.”
