“The richland outreach center exist because organizationally there are concentrated needs within the underserved populations of richland county, ohio. These needs revolve around a segment of families that are often cut out activities, or otherwise have barriers that keep them from participating in their community. Roc recognized that the gaps leading to less involvement are a sense of belonging, and financial. The gaps created are based on oppressions within our community, such as a lack of inclusion and diversity in schools, workplaces and homes which leads to minimal growth over time. We are dedicated to inclusiveness and opportunity that reaches into the pockets of those who do not feel welcome or have barriers that lead their family to be excluded in the community. Roc is dedicated to finding and serving the needs of the community and serving them through non-traditional methods such as a drive, a hygiene pantry, a diaper distribution and more. It is understood that our events, pantries, and even sports clinics come and go. However, it is the participation that the family is able to build up over the course of time and to experience community, leading to belonging and inclusiveness and joy.”
