We also provide quality arts education programming that gives our brooklyn community the tools to generate forward-thinking art. “Program services shake on the block - this workshop introduces young writers to shakespeare through playwriting, adaptation, and performance with modern twists. It culminates in a multimedia performance open to the public. Fresh start - an eight-week arts education program aimed at reducing recidivism for incarcerated youth. It teaches theatre skills and culminates in a workshop performance at the brentwood residential center. Poets corner - the poets corner at art hub empowers teens to explore self-expression through poetry, building confidence in storytelling and creative writing. Workshops introduce spoken word and performing arts, culminating in a presentation of their original works. Mercedes gallery & healing room - this multidisciplinary installation, inspired by modesto flako jimenezs grandmother, honors latine migration through a visual exhibit and documentary. The separate healing room offers therapeutic art workshops to promote healing through various forms of art. These workshops reduce stress, stimulate cognition, and encourage self-expression and community building. Ghetto hors doeuvres - a diverse group of nyc artists, live dj set, conversation, and dancing. Rappers, musicians, and poets collaborate to create an ode to new york citys streets. Summer arts festival - a day full of free live entertainment, food, activities, and so much more for people of all ages in bushwick!”
