“Form 990-ez, part iii, primary exempt purpose - to promote education, including in the areas of human health, the environment, marine conservation and waste reduction, and to assist in implementing projects and practices consistent with such teachings. Form 990-ez, part iii, line 28, program service accomplishments: the azulita project was born from the desire to create a healthier and more environmetally sustanable world. We focus on reducing plastic use and waste in the communities of flagstaff, arizona, usa and los llanos, guerroro, mexico. The azulita projects programs focus on plastic recapture, consumer education and reducing plastics usage with businesses, schools, organizations and community members. In flagstaff, the azulita project focuses on reducing city-wide plastic use through educational outreach and programs like tote-ally reusable bags and straw free flagstaff. Our strive for 5 waste reduction program reaches hundreds of school-aged youth each year. In guerrero, mexico, we partner with local volunteers to capture ocean-bound plastic and prepare it for reuse or recycling. To date we have assisted with collecting more than 2.5 million pounds of waste plastic from mexican beaches and waterways.”
