| ReasonableCauseExplanation/ExplanationTxt | 0 | We respectfully request abatement of the late-filing penalty for our Form 990-EZ for the tax year ending 2024. Due to a genuine misunderstanding, we believed the filing deadline was May 31, whereas it was actually May 15. Upon realizing this error on May 29, we promptly finished up the return to file. Liberty County Re-Entry Coalition, Inc. is a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to improving public safety and reducing recidivism by supporting formerly incarcerated individuals. Since 2016, we've operated the SOAR Re-Entry Center without state funding, relying on local partnerships and community support to serve hundreds of individuals. To prevent future occurrences, we have implemented measures including calendar reminders and consultation with a tax professional to ensure timely filings. We sincerely hope the IRS will consider our circumstances and grant relief from the associated penalties. |
