Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
We offer support, opportunity, advocacy, and resources through evidence-based reentry programming, interventions, and collaborations with partners who are committed to mitigating/removing barriers to reentry. Our mission is to promote public safety, reduce recidivism, and help people reach their human potential. The Liberty County Re-Entry Coalition's SOAR Re-Entry Center is the hub for community-based reentry services. Our program, with support from the Liberty County Board of Commission, the City of Hinesville, and collaboration with numerous community agencies, provides direct services and linkages to wrap-around services. SOAR is a modern facility set up for in-house services with a lounge, beverage, and snack station, training room, computer café, clothing closet, and comfortable amenities to welcome people home in a positive and warm atmosphere. We are intentional about how we present our 14-area focus program and how we truly help people access emergency shelter, housing, work, employment preparation, transportation, health care, counseling and other priority care for well-being and stability. Capacity building, partnerships, and knowledge of other providers are a strategic part of the work we do. We work to build consensus, create a culture of help, and provide a bridge for people to navigate barriers. Ongoing street and community outreach is a priority to prevent anyone from falling through the cracks. We engage with other like-minded communities to leverage support and connections through several nontraditional and creative pathways. We collaborate with the Georgia Justice Project, our city and county governments, sheriff and police chief, small businesses, corporations, WorkSource Coastal Job Center, courts, Diversity Health Center, local DCS, Drug Court, food pantry, Hinesville Veterans Administration Clinic, Family Connection, and numerous stakeholders. These relationships enable us to sustain our work and provide a plethora of services and resources to our clients impacted by the justice system. The SOAR Center is open Monday-Thursday, 10am-3pm for appointments, referrals, and walk-ins. Friday services are by appointment only. Our programs and services focus on 14 key areas including the following: -Screening and Assessment, Case Planning '-First Day Out' Assistance * Welcome Home (coffee, tea, water, snack/meal, and 'get to know' conversation) * Food Box (in-house) * Clothing and Shoes (in-house and referrals) * Backpack & Personal Hygiene Items * Transportation (local and bus ticket) * Telephone Use, Charging Station, Wi-Fi Access * Medication Assistance (referral) * Assistance with applying for benefits, care, employment, SNAP (Food stamps), mobile phone and other needs. * Emergency Shelter (Motel Voucher for 1-20 nights) * Faith-Building & Chaplain Support (in-house) * Family and Crisis Counseling (Referral for Pro Bono services) * Computer & Internet Access (in-house computer cafe) * Community Outreach/Contacts for Support -reentry is a people effort; we call every agency and individual we know to obtain help for our clients. * Bilingual Support (in-house) -Housing Support (rent/utility assistance up to 3 months) - Housing Needs and Risk Questionnaire -Life Skills - SOAR to Next | From Dream to Reality - Six Week Intensive * Vital Document Recovery: Birth certificate, SSN card, State ID, Driver's License, etc. * Emergency Shelter and Stable Housing Planning * Housing Search & Placement Assistance * Georgia Landlord/Tenant Rights Education * Rental/Utility assistance * Personal Financial Education - MoneySmart, FDIC Computer-Based Instruction for Adults and Young Adults. * Collaboration with Coastal WorkSource & Department of Labor * Applications & Resume Building * Job Leads & Information * Direct Employment Interview Referrals * Customer Service Workshop * Entrepreneurship Resources * Reentry Initiative Supporting Entrepreneurship (RISE) - Workshop * Business Etiquette Workshop * Interview Coaching and Mock Panel * Social Media Awareness - Dos & Don'ts * Peer Mentoring Support - Each Other's Keeper Mentoring Group Children of Incarcerated Parents * Caregiver Support & Awareness * Books & Bookbags * Vital Document Recovery Assistance * Mentoring Connection. ReasonableCauseExplanation/ExplanationTxt0We respectfully request abatement of the late-filing penalty for our Form 990-EZ for the tax year ending 2024. Due to a genuine misunderstanding, we believed the filing deadline was May 31, whereas it was actually May 15. Upon realizing this error on May 29, we promptly finished up the return to file. Liberty County Re-Entry Coalition, Inc. is a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to improving public safety and reducing recidivism by supporting formerly incarcerated individuals. Since 2016, we've operated the SOAR Re-Entry Center without state funding, relying on local partnerships and community support to serve hundreds of individuals. To prevent future occurrences, we have implemented measures including calendar reminders and consultation with a tax professional to ensure timely filings. We sincerely hope the IRS will consider our circumstances and grant relief from the associated penalties.
