Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 28

Point of sale (pos) projects: the tobacco- free alliance (tfa) is committed to reducing the harm caused by commercial tobacco. Our efforts center on education and policy advocacy to reduce youth access to and the appeal of commercial tobacco products and to counteract the tobacco industry's influence. A key part of this program is to promote best practice point- of-sale (pos) policies, including the prohibition of flavored tobacco product sales, to reduce tobacco-related health disparities. This work is primarily conducted in dakota county, mn with additional work conducted in northern hennepin county, mn.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 29

Environmental harms of e-cigarettes projects: tfa has two projects that focus on the environmental harms of e-cigarette waste. One project is conducted in dakota county and the other project is conducted in hennepin county. We created a youth group of project area teens to first identify the local environmental impact of e-cigarettes/vaping devices. We use the data collected to inform the development of community-based policy, systems, and environmental (pse) strategies to expand commercial tobacco- free environments, reduce youth e-cigarette initiation, and contribute to sustainable pse change within the project areas.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 30

School policy and commercial tobacco prevention and education support: tfa provides technical assistance, guidance and training on tobacco-related pse change options for dakota county public health and provides training and education to project area school staff and communities. Tfa also engages middle and high school students as peer-to-peer vaping prevention educators and advocates in five project area school districts.
