The Miracle League is designed to serve kids who can't be accommodated by established league sports due to their special needs. The vision of the program is to provide any child with special needs, regardless of their level of disability, the opportunity to play league sports and enjoy the emotional and physical benefits of being part of a team sport. We provide these children with the chance to play through our Miracle Field, a specially constructed sports field that uses a cushioned, synthetic turf to accommodate wheelchairs and other walking-assistance devices, along with appropriate support facilities. Every player is partnered with an able-bodied buddy volunteer (age 12-years and up) to assist him or her at each sport. The League operates special brackets for children 6-12 years, young adults 13 & older, and for adults 21 years and older that is especially geared toward Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury Survivors (BISCIS).

| In addition to our regular spring and fall baseball seasons, the winter soccer season league started a basketball program in the summer of 2013 for both age groups. One hundred eighteen players enjoyed the dribbling down the court at The Academy of Sacred Heart. The Miracle League worked with Brother Martin, a prominent Catholic High School in the New Orleans area, to host a special All-Stars Weekend for our players. Miracle League players teamed up with players from the Brother Martin Crusaders baseball team in a fundraiser that included batting cages, fielding drills, throwing clinic, and an All-Star game that featured intermingled teams of Crusaders and Miracle League players. The Miracle League of Greater New Orleans also works with several area partners and organizations to ensure the program is successful. The Audubon Nature Institute and Children's Hospital continue to partner with the league, making both financial contributions and lending years of experience to the League's leadership. The Miracle League continues to partner with the Touro Infirmary Rehabilitation Center to create a player bracket for Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury Survivors (BISCIS) who are in various stages of recovery. The Miracle League is also working with counselors at area public and parochial schools to provide information about participating in the League to the children with disabilities that attend these schools as well as recruit volunteers for player buddies and help with fundraisers. The League especially targets the public schools in the New Orleans and surrounding parish public schools and such parochial schools as St. Michael's Special School (the special-learning needs school of the Archdiocese of New Orleans Catholic Schools) and St. Stephen Catholic School's Chartwell Center (the center enrolls children age 3-12 whose learning differences place them in the Autism Spectrum). The League is also asking several area agencies and non-profits for help in informing their constituents about how a child can join a team, including: Families Helping Families, Crane Rehab Center of New Orleans, the Greater New Orleans Chapter of the Autism Society of America, Lighthouse for the Blind, Spina Bifida Association of Greater New Orleans, the Hydrocephalus Society, the New Orleans chapter of the American Cancer Society for Kids, JoJo's Hope, Light House of the Blind, United Cerebral Palsy of Greater New Orleans, Easter Seals Louisiana, Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans, and the New Orleans chapter of the March of Dimes.
