Conflict of interest policy compliance Part VI line 12C

It is the policy of YES to avoid conflicts of interest in all its operations and as much as possible, in a small community, to avoid an appearance of conflict of interest in its operation. No staff, board member or paid consultant may have a direct or indirect financial interest in the agencys assets, business affairs, or professional services. If a conflict of interest does arise with a staff or Board member, then the staff or Board member must publicaly state the conflict and then refrain from any discussion or involvement with the issue. includes acceptance of lavish entertainment and free long-distance travel and lodging. A card of appreciation is acceptable; money, is not, under any circumstances. No staff, Board member or paid consultants are to give, offer, or promise, directly or indirectly, anything of value to any representative, client, or potential client. It is appropriate for a person who is related to a staff member to apply for YES services; however, the circumstances and the service provided to the related client will not be discussed with the related staff member. Any client who is related to a staff member will not be assisted by his/her relation. The Board of Directors meet monthly with the YES Executive Director, reviewing all operations and finances. The Boards Fiscal member will meet with the ED to work closely with them to ensure the ED is supported and the fiancials are correct. The Executive Director is provided an annual review to ensure that there continues to be no conflicts of interest, in addition to other day to day operations.

IRS990/Desc0YES of Pend Oreille County (Youth Emergency Services) provides intensive case management to homeless and at-risk youth and young adults, ages 12 to 24. Young people receive professional support in navigating all the necessary steps toward living in a safe and permanent home, continuing with school, receiving medical and mental health care and having adequate food and clothing. YES has a drop-in center in Newport, Washington where kids can shower, wash clothes, recreate with other young people and meet with advocates and learn life skills. YES has hired two new staff members with previous experience in their fields. YES hired one advocate who was previously employed as a family advocate and is familiar with Washington laws when helping the homeless population. YES also hired a new Executive Assistant with experience working with state and federal grants and has a background in accounting. Both new employees have shown their passion for YESs mission; we are grateful to have them.

No staff, board member or paid consultant may have a direct or indirect financial interest in the agencys assets, business affairs, or professional services. If a conflict of interest does arise with a staff or Board member, then the staff or Board member must publicaly state the conflict and then refrain from any discussion or involvement with the issue. includes acceptance of lavish entertainment and free long-distance travel and lodging. A card of appreciation is acceptable; money, is not, under any circumstances. No staff, Board member or paid consultants are to give, offer, or promise, directly or indirectly, anything of value to any representative, client, or potential client. It is appropriate for a person who is related to a staff member to apply for YES services; however, the circumstances and the service provided to the related client will not be discussed with the related staff member. Any client who is related to a staff member will not be assisted by his/her relation. The Board of Directors meet monthly with the YES Executive Director, reviewing all operations and finances. The Boards Fiscal member will meet with the ED to work closely with them to ensure the ED is supported and the fiancials are correct. The Executive Director is provided an annual review to ensure that there continues to be no conflicts of interest, in addition to other day to day operations.
