| 2024 SuccessAt the very root of Giving 365s pantry is to create nurturing and safe environments for students and their families. The objectives of Giving365s Parkridge Community Food Pantrys include ensuring that all Parkridge Elementary students and their families have year-round access to nutritious meals at no cost. Looking at the broader impact of this unique program, our goals include reducing childhood obesity rates by offering access to nutritious foods, enhancing family resilience by empowering parents with basic needs, and supporting parents in their pursuit of self-sufficiency and family health. The development of the organizations first School-Based Community Food Pantry was founded as a means of providing vital basic needs support to low-income, marginalized students and their families. Parkridge Elementary School was selected as the organizations first School-Based Community Food Pantry partner in 2020 because of the school's acute need 93% of students are socioeconomically disadvantaged and 80% identify as Latinx/Hispanic.Now in its fifth full school year of actively providing this vital on-site program, Parkridge Elementarys Giving365-ran food pantry is accessible year-round during regular school hours. Future goals with additional funding include expansion of pantry hours to weekday evenings and weekends, bolstering Giving365's impact in providing essential services to the school community. In 2023 this successful program concept extended to another local school Highland Elementary in the City of Norco. While the food pantry itself was under construction, Giving365 began implementation by conducting food deliveries for families in need and supported the school in developing a school-based garden. | $8,183 | $42,104 |
