HABITAT FLORIDA FOCUSES ON SYSTEMS CHANGE AND BOLSTERS THE HABITAT NETWORK IN FLORIDA, WITH THE GOAL OF A THRIVING, SUSTAINABLE, AND EFFICIENT NETWORK OF AFFORDABLE HOMEOWNERSHIP PROVIDERS IN FLORIDA. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH FOUR MAIN LINES OF WORK: ADVOCACY, BUILDING CAPACITY, COMMUNICATION AND EDUCATION, AND DISASTER RECOVERY AND RESPONSE.”

“Program service accomplishments - In FY 2024-2025, Habitat for Humanity of Florida strengthened its network of 47 affiliates, advancing affordable homeownership and community resilience statewide. Florida affiliates once again led the nation, building 611 new homes. Affiliates also completed 626 repairs, serving over 1200 families in total. Following Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Habitat Florida coordinated disaster recovery efforts, awarding $80,000 in Early Recovery Grants and securing $500,000 in long-term recovery funding through partnerships with the Center for Disaster Philanthropy and Volunteer Florida. Habitat Florida hosted its biannual statewide conference, themed Building Tomorrow, Together, with 261 participants. In addition, the organization completed a FORTIFIED Pilot Program to promote resilient building standards and partnered with the University of Florida on modular housing research. Advocacy efforts included a State Lobby Day & Legislative Reception, participation in a national advocacy conference, Habitat on the Hill, and the introduction of state level legislation in support of uniform property tax assessment. Sound financial stewardship resulted in revenues exceeding budget by over $568,000 and a net asset increase of $380,866, ensuring continued impact across Florida communities.”
