“The process by which the HAAM board reviews the 990 prior to submission is as follows: The first draft goes through the finance committee which is made up of 6 of the 16 board members. After they review and provide feedback, the tax preparer makes changes. Once the final draft is ready, the 990 is sent to the full board electronically for their review and feedback. The Finance Committee chair collects the feedback (if any) and works with the tax preparer to make changes which are then sent back to the full board before submission of the 990.”
