Mission

The Foundation was formed exclusively for educational, charitable, and other non-profit purposes; and designed to promote the general welfare and development of individuals living in Prince William and Stafford counties. The Foundation provides scholarships, grants, and other types of financial assistance to worthy individuals and assists community groups and individuals in educational, civic improvements, and community activities.

Program Services

Supporting Education, the Foundation provided college scholarships of $500.00 each to 13 students and provided achievement grants of $100.00 to 7 high school students. Scholarships, grants, and other financial assistance are awarded based on need, academic performance, and demonstrated leadership. If it were not for this assistance, it would be very difficult for these students to attend college or participate in other advanced learning programs. Also, scholarships and grants allow the students to purchase much needed supplies and books to support their education. This assistance promotes educational opportunities for our targeted student population and instills a sense of achievement for their hard work. The Foundation also supported educational programs of several local foundations that focus on educational improvements of children in our target communities. Potomac View ES received a grant of $1,000.00 to assist disadvantage students with school supplies and a grant was given to a local teacher to prochase supplies for her classroom.$10,511$4,280
In the area of youth development, the Foundation supported youth in Prince William County performing arts through CAPAC by providing a $500.00 grant to enhance their young clients. This program also provides educational excellence, enrichment and quality entertainment through the arts while inspiring individuals to participate in cultural diversity. A $500.00 donation was given to the Boys and Girls to assist in the development of youths in our service area. This effort supports the goals of the organization and the development of the whole person through education and physical activities. Over 200 young men and women benefitted from the Foundation's donation. Also in the area of youth development, the Foundation continued to support the Prince William ($250.00) and Stafford ($250.00) Counties NAACP with grants. The funds were used to further the organizations empowerment of youths in their community. These efforts also build character and allow young adults the opportunity to explore and determine career paths and the importance of community involvement. Approximately 100 young men and women benefitted from these donations. The Foundation provided grants to support the Kappa League youth development program. The program allows young men to develop self-esteem and guidance of being young responsible men in today's society; in addition to performing duties to support the family structure. Approximately 20 young men received assistance from these donations. The Foundation provided a $250.00 donation to the Dale City Track Club. The donation allows for the development of leadership skills and to enhance the athletic ability of the club's members. Approximately 10 members can benefit from this donation designed to encourage greater participation in school sport programs and foster necessary life skills.$8,152$5,380
Supporting Human Services, the Foundation supported Homeless Community by providing $200.00 to purchase much needed supplies to support the residents. The donation provided for health care products to support two families of four (8 individuals) living in the shelter. A grant was provided to The Good News Community Kitchen to support their efforts in feeding the homeless population in our service area. The Foundation provided grants of $1,000.00 to S.E.R.V.E. of Stafford County and $1,000.00 to ACTS in Prince William County. This effort supports the human health and welfare of the target population by providing funds to provide meals for individuals and families during the holiday period. Over 1,500 families benefitted from this support in Stafford County and 1,000 families in Prince William County. In addition, a $1,000.00 grant was given to Helping Neighbors in Need to assist the transition of homeless families moving into apartments. The Foundation also supported the Prince William Salvation Army Christmas Basket with a donation of $500.00. This effort supports the human health and welfare of the target population by providing funds to pay for such items as clothes, food, temporary shelter, utilities payments, and other financial support required by individuals and families. Four families also received gift cards to provide Christmas gifts for their children to benefits touch of happiness during the holiday season.
